About Us

Tenon is a fourth-generation carpentry company. Our great-grandfather was a carpenter. His son was a carpenter. Our founder, Musthafa Shakeeb, is a carpenter. And today, the next generation carries that same craft forward — not as a business decision, but as a way of life that has been passed down through our family for nearly a century.

From a Single Workshop to 12,000 sqft

In 2007 Musthafa Shakeeb returned to his home island of GDh. Thinadhoo and established what would become Tenon. Starting with basic machines and a small team, the workshop grew steadily — driven by a reputation for quality and a relentless commitment to getting every piece right.

By 2018, a 5,000 sqft carpentry workshop was completed in GDh. Thinadhoo. In 2022, a timber godown brought the total floor area to 10,000 sqft. By 2024, the completion of a glass and hardware godown expanded operations to 12,000 sqft — making Tenon one of the largest and best-equipped carpentry operations in the Maldives.

What We Do

From our workshop in GDh. Thinadhoo — where the space, machines, and skilled hands come together to work solid timber — we craft beds, doors, tables, chairs, wardrobes, kitchens, mimbars, and more. Our Malé workshop handles interior carpentry and blockboard work, serving clients across the capital.

We work with homeowners, interior designers, luxury resorts, government institutions, and commercial businesses. No two projects are the same — and that is exactly how we like it.

Built to Last

At Tenon, we do not make furniture that is designed to be replaced. We make pieces that are meant to outlast the homes they are placed in — the kind of furniture your children will still be using. That is what four generations of carpentry teaches you: do it right, or do not do it at all.
